Dear 2nd
Grade Families,
The 2nd grade team would
like to ask you to help us with a service learning project that we are
undertaking for the US Navy sailors that will be deployed this holiday on the
USS Truman (Mrs. Adams’ son is on this aircraft carrier).
We would like to participate in an
effort called “Navy for Moms Holiday Project” to send goodie bags to the
sailors who will be away this year during the holidays. Below is a copy of their flyer and a list of
acceptable items. We are also accepting any monetary donations to help with
shipping costs. Students may bring in
any of these items up until Fri., Nov. 1.
We will have opportunities for those students who would like to help
assemble the bags during a couple recess times the beginning of November.
Thank you for your support in this
project!
Sincerely,
The
2nd Grade Teachers
