Our whirl-wind week has finally come to an end. Your child should be good and worn out. We jumped into all our subjects this week. As you saw, math homework went home Monday through Thursday. You can expect to see spelling work come home on Mondays and it is always due on Wednesday (unless we are working with a short week). Finally, the reading bookmark will go home on Thursdays as a final way to prepare for the reading test on Friday. Any other work (grammar/reading/etc.) that is not finished at school will also be taken home to complete and return the next day. I had the students take the Officer Buckle and Gloria test a little early this week so we could go over it today, question by question, looking up the answers in the reading book. I asked students to find the page where the answer to each question could be proven. It is an important skill that we'll continue to work on and you can at home as well. The first spelling test has been graded, graphed, and sent home too. Check out the Friday folder for a school picture flyer and your child's work from this week.
If your child has gotten a tally mark or a dart, you should see that noted in his/her assignment notebook. I encourage you to continue checking and intialling the assignment notebook daily as this is a way of communicating the daily happenings at school with you at home.
