Busy, Busy Week

Our annual book fair will be held May 12-16 and will feature a "Fiesta!" theme. The book fair will coincide with the Related Arts Fair (May 15), and the Grandparent Breakfast (May 16), with class visitation days May 12-15.

Last, but not least, we are going online again this year!  Those who cannot attend, or who decide to order additional books, will have a chance to place orders online.  The online site will open May 3, and orders are shipped directly to the school for free.  There is also a new book fair app that you and your tech-savvy families will love!  Just search for “Scholastic Book Fairs” at your phone’s app store!

·         Dress up days for book fair week help Susie's Place and classroom libraries!  Donations of 50 cents per day are requested.  We would love for you to participate and to remind your students' families.

§  Tuesday, May 13 – Reading is for Champions (wear something from your favorite sports team)

§  Wednesday, May 14 – Hide Out with a Good Book (camouflage day)

§  Thursday, May 15 - Hats Off to Reading (hat day)

§  Friday, May 16 – Bulldogs Love Reading (wear purple/Brownsburg Bulldogs spirit wear)

The Related Arts Fair will be Thursday, May 16 from 6:00-7:00pm (the book fair will also be open during this time) so please stop by and check out what your students are doing in music, art, and PE.

And they're off.....letters are written, flat kids are made, the envelopes are addressed so that means get them in the mail. They'll actually ship out Monday. What a fun way to enjoy a novel in class and we love looking at all the things we get back.

TALENT SHOW

It’s that time of year, time for the 2014 Brown Elementary Talent Show!  Permission slip forms for participation in this event will be e-mailed in a school-wide communication.  The Brown Elementary Talent Show is a family event that provides wholesome entertainment, showcases some of the many talented students here at Brown, and helps us support the American Cancer Society by raising funds for the Relay for Life.  All permission slips are due April 24, 2014.  Students will be notified as to whether or not they will be called for auditions on April 25, 2014.

Marcos fundraiser for Relay For Life

Mark your calendars for next Tuesday, April 15. Marcos will be donating a portion of the sales for the day to our Relay for Life team! Please mention that you are from Brown and mention your child's teacher (wink, wink) the teacher with the most sales will win a pizza party for their class! Whether you order for lunch or dinner, just mention Brown. So, two good things come from this fundraiser! Watch for flyers to come home soon with coupons!!

Pictures were sent home today! These pictures are for purchase so if you choose not to purchase them, please return them to me. Otherwise, you can refer to the pricing guide on the inside cover of the picture book and purchase as little or as many of the pages as you wish.
