Our First Full Week

We are ready to begin our first full week. This includes a spelling pretest/post-test, a story in the reading book, and math each day. Keep your eye on those assignment notebooks, continue to sign them, and monitor your child's organization. Ms. Patterson visited our classroom last week while we were setting up the binders and she is super excited about our endeavors to become organized in third grade.

Welcome Welcome Welcome

We made it through our first day. We'll be working hard these next couple of weeks to establish a routine and retrain our bodies to be mentally alert for an 6 hour period of time. Plan to have some exhausted little people (much like their teacher) the next several afternoons. We had a great get-to-know you activity today showing us that we have much in common with each other.

Thank you again for attending our back-to-school night and taking a few minutes to talk with me (and listening to my talk as well). I believe it is going to be a great year and I look forward to partnering with all of you to support the students.

Spikey-our hermit crab

Spikey is looking for a new, loving home. He is free to anyone who can take him-all his supplies go with him with the exception of the tank. Please contact me if you are willing to take on a new family member (I mean pet).

Storm Drain Presentation

We saw a fabulous presention yesterday about storm drains and pollution. In the end, we all participated in polluting the waterway in which the water drained into. Some of the students were really fascinated by it. There is much work to be done in Brownsburg with educating people about what goes into storm drains. If you are a boy scout/girl scout leader and are interested in this type of service work, contact Kathy Dillion with the Town of Brownsburg. They are always looking for groups to volunteer and help with drain markers.
